Amazing grand-strategy space game in the works.

This is a game (not a violent genocidal movement) that I am REALLY excited for. It's one of those grand-scale strategy games like Supreme Commander, but takes place across whole planets.

Since this is deviantART, I feel I should comment on the art style, which looks absolutely great. The planets have a stylised 'mini-sphere' aesthetic, similiar to what you may have seen in Spore a couple years back, and there a TONNE of colourful, cartoony explosions - which consume anything from robot soldiers to entire planets.

The game has already amassed the $900,000 required to make it a reality, which is fantastic, but so much more can be done. If they reach $1,300,000 (which is slighlty over 100k away) then the game will feature gas giant planets and enhanced orbital gameplay. If it gets $1,500,000, we'll be seeing lava planets and metal planets (artificial planets used to wage war. Think Death Star).

I'm sure some of you guys absolutely love this kind of stuff - I know I certainly geek out just thinking about it - and it really would be great to see a game called 'Planetary Annihilation' get fleshed out with as many planet archetypes as possible, wouldn't it?

So I just watched the entire Firefly TV series and the Serenity movie for the first time.

Wow.

I'm not so good with words and talking and opinions and other such fundamental skills, so nothing I can say will do it justice, but man, I absolutely loved every minute of it. Absolutely tragic that it didn't turn into a multi-series, year-spanning show. The characters were perfect, the stories were deep and intertwined brilliantly; it was just brimming with so much potential that it's saddening to see it not entirely fulfil it.

But still, better to appreciate how great it was than whine about how it's over.

It's come to my attention recently that I need to start making money if I am to survive. One possibility is that I start taking requests from people on deviantART and do some commission pieces for varying fees, depending on the amount of work involved.

Problem is, I'm not exactly super popular on deviantART yet (I have about 90 watchers), so I'm not sure if it would even be possible to make any money from it at this point.

I'm not sure if I'd be able to start doing these commissions RIGHT NOW, because I have a lot of work to do for university this month. However, if this is the kind of thing that you could see yourself being interested in after that, let me know now!

Cartoons and comics are my niche, but as you may have seen, I've been expanding my skillset lately. If you're interested in this, just drop a comment below!

Since seeing this lovely piece fav.me/d4jmbuk about 40 seconds ago, it has become my life-long dream to make an awesome wallpaper.

I think I tried one time. I turned that 'Welcome to Earth' thing I did into an image that could fit into a 1900x1080 screen, but it was more of an afterthought than a dedicated thing.

I'll probably do something fan-art related. Thinking cartoons. Can't do it for a while, what with stuff to do, but just thought I'd make the journal!
